Movie Monday-Pheasant

So this is a bit of a wildcard Movie Monday.  In case you are ever lost in the woods and need to survive on wild animals, I thought I would show you how to skin a pheasant.  Actually, think of all the women in our past that thought nothing of skinning a chicken or other animal for the cook pot.  In fact, for many women this is still a part of daily life.  I am grateful it is not a typical duty of mine.  If you are squeamish or do not appreciate meat preparation, this is not the movie for you.  Check back next week.

We did enjoy this bird for supper.  You can see we added bacon on top and we added onion, apples, and potatoes around it.  Tony did find some cooked corn in his breast.  Ha!  I didn’t put that in there!  That would be corn from the bird’s crop–gross!

In the end, the bird tasted great and provided a meal for us which we are grateful for.

Movie Monday–On the Needles.

I thought today I would show you all the knitting projects I have on my needles.  5 projects–yikes!  I’m afraid it may only get worse as Christmas approaches.  (Alert!  Alert!  Less than 10 weeks until Christmas!!) For all you knitters out there–I hope you enjoy seeing what a fellow knitter is up to.  For all you wanna-be knitters–get learning!  You have lots of resources available.  For all you “don’t care about knitting” people–what’s wrong with you??!!  :)   Happy Monday!

*Before I actually start the video, you see me searching for a place to put my gum.   Kind of funny.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Elias’ hat is a free pattern on Ravelry called Cozy.

Movie Monday–Camp Stools

Welcome to Movie Monday!  I can’t believe I finally finished this movie!  Getting it done all between sandpaper, wet paint, dogs, babies crying, diapers…that’s success in the life of a homemaker!  Today I show you how I updated some old camp stools.  It was a process, but I’m very happy with the results.  They are totally cute and I can see them making many pit stops in various rooms–living room, porch, Elias’ room–in between their ventures around the campfire.

*A closer view of the fabrics I picked.  These aren’t ticking, but they are still a bit sturdier material.

Movie Monday–Quilt+Quirks

Happy Movie Monday to you all!  I am short and sweet this week, showing you a quilt I just pulled out of the dryer today!  (I wash my fabric for the first time after I quilt it so I get a lot of crinkly goodness.  Pulling it out of the dryer is the best!)  I hope I get your brain spinning on some fun things to add to your next sewing project.  All my best to you this week!
