Arriving at the hospital on Wednesday night at 8:00pm. We were so excited…and a bit nervous!

Proud papa right after delivery. I was very happy to have Tony there to take care of him while I did some immediate recovery.

A bit of hard work later and the little guy was in my arms! We made it!

Elias Anthony Barlow. 7lbs 11oz. 20 inches long. Born at 3:39 am on Friday, February 5th 2010.

Thanking God for our miracle baby!
Friday night date night! Tony and I are in this thing at church where once a month you go on a great date. It follows a book called “10 Great Dates,” which gives you some things to discuss and think about while having a romantic evening. Well I’m a rather cheap date, so last night we went to Caribou with a Christmas gift card, thought about (but did not) rent a movie from redbox, and then came home and gave each other foot massages. It was a wonderful, and inexpensive, date night!
A little mood lighting…
“Footsies” were a tradition started in my home that Tony gladly adopted upon marriage.
Dakota was treated with a bone so she would stop drinking our foot water.
Doing something positive for your relationship on a regular basis can go a long way…just remember that sometimes simple things are the best things.
We had another blizzard here in South Dakota, so it made for a rather short work week. I am not complaining! Although with our winds, -40 does not feel very good.
This afternoon I made a double batch of banana bread. I think I could eat a whole loaf of this stuff in one sitting. Yum, yum.

I have lots of plans for this weekend including…
-organize digital photos on the computer into digital scrapbook
-finish wool rug
-get binding on custom quilt
-towel apron for baby bath time made
-figure out the artwork for the nursery
-and maybe some filing…if there is time…
Here’s a recent picture of my belly–35 weeks. 5 weeks to go! (Do you like the Santa pants?? Whenever I am home I immediately put on the most comfy pants no matter how terrible they look!)

Building our love nest!
Tony and I had an impromptu date night thanks to a Christmas gift card and Redbox! (Gotta love $1.00 movies…however I do feel for the video rental industry…) We picked up Julie & Julia and I just loved it! However, I am a little biased towards cooking and blogging so I can’t guarantee all will agree with me. I also appreciated the supportive role that the husbands had with their wives…very refreshing from so much of the negative drivel about marriage.
After the movie I even squeezed in my New Year’s Resolution. hint, hint. 2 days in and I’m still going strong!
