I made a little progress on my newest sample for Anything Goes. Really, I must say it, anything goes when it comes to fabric for this quilt. Plus, it is such a fast and easy pattern that you can get several done before Christmas. Patterns are available here!
Binding and backing ready to go.

Batting cut.

This quilt is going to be perfect when the snow begins to fly around here! Can’t wait to get the quilting on it done.
Here is the full shot of Anything Goes. It is the throw size, 66″x72″, which makes it hard to fit into a smaller picture. I think I like the close up shots better, so you can see all the little holly leaves and polka dots but all well. Did I say it is a really cute sample?! I can’t wait to get it quilted up and washed. Oh, wintery goodness! The pattern is very easy and would make incredible handmade Christmas gifts…which are the best! If you would like a pattern you can pick one up at your local quilt shop or in Quilt Patterns.

This is a project I was working on yesterday. I put all these rows together, started laying them out and…OH NO! One row is 2 inches short. Total Bummer. Time to rip some seams.

Today I got some good sewing done–yay! I put together a new sample of my pattern Anything Goes. It went together so fast that I started thinking crazy…”everyone on my Christmas list would love this…” oh boy. Seriously though, one day. A couple hours here, a half hour there. This pattern is easy enough for a new sewer and totally looks great with anything! You can order it by clicking on the Quilt Patterns tab above and scrolling down to the pattern. I will get it off to you right away. Christmas is coming!!
The fabric is Warm Woolen Mittens Flannel by Maywood Studios. It is darling!

My lighting was terrible, so I will try and take a full shot tomorrow but this is what you get for now. It is a large throw size and I can’t wait to get it quilted. It is going to be a major snuggler quilt in the winter.

*The Dutch Rose Quilt Shop of Sioux Falls has kits available.
It’s been a while! I have been so busy–work stuff, plus lots of fun mixed in. Here’s a darling quilt that I just did for the shop as a sample. It’s called Vintage Baby Quilt by YoYo Mama.
Super easy! You simply place your little squares on top of another piece of fabric + batting + backing, and you sew down the edges. Throw it in the wash and poof! There you have it. This is a good one for all you wanna be quilters. No piecing involved!
Going to a wedding in Eau Claire WI this weekend. Tony and I will put on our dancing shoes! It will be fun to get away to the woods–great time of year to travel in WI.
Have a great weekend! Do something that delights you!
I can’t believe tomorrow is the start of another week?! Don’t the weekends just
fly?
I did some major sewing today. My sister-in-law, Esther, asked me to do a baby quilt up for her first nephew. She picked the fabric out and sent it to me–it was terribly fun for me to see what fabric she picked, since she has probably never been in a quilt shop before. I had to do the quilt in a couple days so she made up a very easy pattern. It has that wrinkled/aged look to it which is so snug! Hope the baby uses it until it turns to rags!

I also did up one of my own patterns, Scandinavian Songbirds, for Esther’s mom named Ingrid. (Cool to have the same name–I don’t meet many Ingrids) Esther is going to Germany in a couple days so she will deliver the quilts then.
Have a wonderful week!
