My kind of weekend!

This weekend was spent at complete leisure!  I took full advantage–a couple of books, two projects, and a movie later…000_2190

The first project was one that I have been meaning to get to before now but just never did.  (I am sure that is a foreign occurrence for all of you  ;]  This is an Amy Butler pattern called the Nappy Bag.  It is a diaper bag that has some great pockets and space inside.  There is a cell phone pocket on the outside.  I’m thinking this is a good thing for such a large bag…desperate scrambling for an ill timed phone call is not my idea of a good time.  I also have a “Butt Rug” tucked inside.  This is a wonderfully organic cotton matt for changing time.

This is “Peanut” a wee elephant.  This pattern is out of the book Last Minute Patchwork.  I think it is rather cute, Tony thinks it is somewhat “evil genius” looking.  whatever.

I was at a friend’s house this afternoon and her little boy was holding it by the tail.  So cute!  It withstood the true test of little people love.

Hope you are all finding time to do what you love!

A Fresh Start

The first Saturday of the year and the weather forced me to stay inside all day!  I woke to a coating of ice this morning and didn’t realize it until the dog slid down the back deck stairs.  I laughed out loud at her and she looked at me with a bit of contempt.  I’m not complaining to be stuck inside–I love a little forced home time.  I took down all the Christmas decorations and lugged the tree out all by myself.  (Thankfully without scratching the walls and with minimal needle mess.)

We got a new couch right before Christmas.  I am so enjoying it.  000_2183It’s big, comfortable, and a neutral colored microfiber so I can change out the pillows when I want.  It didn’t look quite so big in the store–kind of made the end tables look like children’s furniture when we got it home.

I moved this antique phone table out to replace one of the end tables.  I was surprised how perfect it fit.  It even houses books!  Two very good ones pictured–The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and Last Minute Patchwork.

Happy New Year!
