A lot of baby happening around here…thus, a lot of baby blogging. I have been wanting to make one of Susan B. Anderson’s pacifier clips for a while now, but Elias did not use the right kind of pacifier, so I had to wait until Espen. To tell you the truth I promoted the kind of pacifier I knew would work for this project with Espen. So Espen now uses the kind of pacifier he does, just because his mama wanted to make a knitting project. I’m sure there will be more of that in his future.

Meet Mr. Elephant.

The pacifier clip previously had a ribbon attached that I just snipped off. The only thing wrong with Mr. Elephant, is that Espen’s older brother has a fondness for him… Meaning I have to watch like a hawk for a pacifier thief.

Another knitting project complete! This is the Garden Mice Mobile I started from Susan B. Anderson‘s book Itty-Bitty Nursery
. Elias is too big for it now, but baby #2 will be able to enjoy it from day 1.
After the mice were all complete, I thought I’d let them have some time together before I hung them in their places. They shared some giggles in the knitting basket and then moved on to some story time.

Here is the mobile all set up on the crib. (It has to come down before Elias takes his morning nap, or I’m afraid it will need some repair.)

It really is adorable, and it got an A+ from Tony which is a true test for any knitting project.

Last week I was in a crafty mood and my hands were busy doing something many hours of the day. I had 2 hand projects on the living room couch and any spare moment I had I picked up a needle of some sort.
I finished the top to “Bloom.” I still have to do all the machine blanket stitching around the appliques. I’ll need to mentally pump up for that before I tackle it. Not the greatest picture of it…should have turned the lamp off on the right side…oops. I think if we have a little girl this would be darling on one wall of her bedroom. We shall see in a couple weeks…

I also knitted up another “Bunny Tail” hat for a new baby.

Next item in my brain–starting to think about Valentine’s Day. Let’s just say homemade love notes + sweet cookies + forcing bulbs!
Tonight I finished a baby hat that I made for a friend’s baby girl. It is the darling “Bunny Tail” hat from Susan B. Anderson’s book Itty-Bitty Hats: cute and cuddly caps to knit for babies and toddlers
. I’m thinking about adding some ribbon around the base of the ears but haven’t decided yet.

There are some great patterns in this book. Below are some of the ones that are a must on my list.
I can see Elias living in this “Simple Baby Cap 1.” I like things simple.

Or how about this one for a little girl…”Upside-down Daisy.”

And this one, “Cherry-O!”

Here is my confession of the day. The baby is to blame. (The green ones next to the bag are terrible…hence being out of the bag. I don’t recommend them. But the rest of the sours are sour-ilicious!)

I know Halloween is over, but I had a cute duck with me that I just couldn’t resist showing you.
My mother-in-law, Elias, and I did a “Trick or Treat” 5k. It was fun dressing up–I was an Orange Crush can and Elias was the cutest duck ever. We did pretty good. Far from first, but still not last.

And here’s the duck of the night.

Tonight I finished this critter. She’s a hoot perched up on the light.

Dakota and Ms. Hoot. Pals at first sight. Ms. Hoot will be making her permanent roost at a friend’s house in a few nights. We will miss her.
