A Fresh Start
The first Saturday of the year and the weather forced me to stay inside all day! I woke to a coating of ice this morning and didn’t realize it until the dog slid down the back deck stairs. I laughed out loud at her and she looked at me with a bit of contempt. I’m not complaining to be stuck inside–I love a little forced home time. I took down all the Christmas decorations and lugged the tree out all by myself. (Thankfully without scratching the walls and with minimal needle mess.)
We got a new couch right before Christmas. I am so enjoying it.
It’s big, comfortable, and a neutral colored microfiber so I can change out the pillows when I want. It didn’t look quite so big in the store–kind of made the end tables look like children’s furniture when we got it home.

I moved this antique phone table out to replace one of the end tables. I was surprised how perfect it fit. It even houses books! Two very good ones pictured–The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and Last Minute Patchwork.
Happy New Year!
