The rug continues to grow! It is up to 43″ across. Yay! The nice thing about this project is I can call it finished whenever I want and then someday if I want it bigger I can just start up where I left off.

I also started my New Year’s resolution today. I know, I know, it is already January 4th but I figured I’d start the first full week of the year. I’ll fill you in soon…it’s really nothing earth-shattering, but I want to put something together before I tell you.
I may have taken on one of those projects that you think will be really fun and then realize that it may just take you 5 years to get it done. I was at a cabin in the north woods a few summers ago and there was this fabulous rug in the main room. It was so soft on the feet and made the room feel so cozy. I have always wanted to make my own since I saw that one. So a couple nights ago the project started. I bought about 18 yards of wool at a discount store–black, orange, and a pale green. I am cutting it into 3 inch strips and braiding it. As I go, I am using some mighty strong thread to weave it together. I think it will be so cool when it is done, but it might take me a while to get there. I’m also beginning to think more on the realistic side…black wool with a yellow lab is maybe not a good mix. hmmm… The husband keeps giving me doubtful looks, but I will forge on, and on, and on, and on….
